... and so are ad-spots and loads of moolah! Tune in!

Even metropolitan India did not get as much importance as this city of yore did. While Hyderabad and Bangalore have been lucky with two new stations (Radio City and Radio Mirchi), Chennai and Delhi have had to be content with one each, and the financial capital of India, Mumbai did not get any! But other towns needn’t feel jealous. “Radio City will soon be starting out in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur and a host of small towns in the western zone,” assures Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City. “By next year, we will be present in 1,000 towns and 50,000 villages in India,” adds Tarun Katiyal, CEO of BIG FM (Adlabs). Like Adlabs, Radio Mirchi and Radio City, by the end of next year, most players would have launched their channels, virtually covering the whole of India. But, what has made Phase II such a big hit?
