With nearly 40 years of experience, Dr. Prakash V Bhide is a mechanical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT-Mumbai) and a Doctorate in HRD from XLRI & Academy of HRD. Dr. Bhide has previously been the vice president of Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co., and Advisor to the Wadia Group companies for eight years. He was also the President of National HRD Network, Mumbai Chapter (1995-97) and elected as a Member with National Body of the National HRD Network.

He is equally good with machines as he is with men. A mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Mumbai, Dr. Bhide discovered his people management skills while on the job. And the early signs were when during his 15 years in Mumbai, he used to take time out for teaching principles and values of management. Later, he went on to carve a career in the HR field.

“It was out of interest that I used to teach at the Bombay university, and this ultimately landed me into the HR arena,” shares Dr. Bhide and recalls, “I used to enjoy those sessions as a break from my factory life. My teaching experience was refreshing, but I never thought that I would go into HR.” Read more..
