It’s poor in English

The sun finally seems to have set in British Empire. In the citadel of capitalism and affluence, the third worldly phenomenon of poverty and deprivation exists in gigantic proportions. It is estimated that about 13 million people constituting about 17% (in 2002-03) of the population lived in poverty in Britain. While the poverty estimation in Britain is ranked at the level of households where the weekly income is below £201, researches suggest that about 9.2% of Britain’s population earn less than £168 while about 4.6% earn less than £134 a week. It is contended that more than the poverty rate, it is the intensity of poverty that gives the accurate picture of the deprivation in Britain.

The third position is clinched by Punjab National Bank (PNB) with an average Cash EPS of Rs.407.29

The third position is clinched by Punjab National Bank (PNB) with an average Cash EPS of Rs.407.29. Cash EPS figures of PNB for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 are Rs.16.79, Rs.80.68 and Rs.1124.40 respectively. The cash flows for the same period were Rs.5.29 billion, Rs.10.73 billion and Rs.149.61 billion respectively. ONGC, which is the leader in the overall rankings is placed at 8th position according to this parameter with an average Cash EPS of Rs.279.77.

Even metropolitan India did not get as much importance as this city of yore did. While Hyderabad and Bangalore have been lucky with two new stations (Radio City and Radio Mirchi), Chennai and Delhi have had to be content with one each, and the financial capital of India, Mumbai did not get any! But other towns needn’t feel jealous. “Radio City will soon be starting out in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur and a host of small towns in the western zone,” assures Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City. “By next year, we will be present in 1,000 towns and 50,000 villages in India,” adds Tarun Katiyal, CEO of BIG FM (Adlabs). Like Adlabs, Radio Mirchi and Radio City, by the end of next year, most players would have launched their channels, virtually covering the whole of India. But, what has made Phase II such a big hit?
